Listia Update

I "sold" my first item on Listia. Someone from Detroit "bought" an old Vegas ashtray I had, for about 200 credits.  Made him happy, made me happy!  Yay!  I am really enjoying the site for its simplicity and overall joyfulness.  There's no pressure, no wondering "how it looks."  It's trading in its purest form.  I love it!

Captain's Log, Day 3

I want to mention another website I provide a link to, here on my blog.  The site is "Heartsy" and the link is the little blue creature

Heartsy is an exposure venue for craftspeople, about 95% of whom are from Etsy.  The craftspeople (and others) work with Heartsy to come up with deep discount "deals" that get offered to interested parties like you and me.  The idea is that when shops have passed the voting gauntlets they get featured as "deals," thus potentially receiving tons of exposure from the people who see them and/or buy their deals.  There are some really excellent deals to be had, on some truly excellent things!

I signed up on Heartsy to vote for and purchase deals from Etsy shops that I like.  I don't want to be featured.  I personally don't think it's a good idea for Vintage people to go to all the trouble to get featured on Heartsy, unless their inventory is absolutely huge and they can handle the exposure when they get it, and the loss.  (But gosh do I see some small vintage shops vying to be featured!)  If I (JustPlainVintage) offered 50 people a 60% discount voucher to be used on anything in my shop for the next year, I'd be broke for the next year!  I'm actually laughing sympathetically right now, thinking I should buy up some deals from the featured vintage shops, add back the 40% they're losing and put the stuff in my shop.  Lol!  See what I mean!  More power to the small shops though, and I sincerely hope it works out for them.

If you click on the blue creature in this blog you should know that we'll each get $5 if you buy something.  You can click, not click, click somewhere else or type "Heartsy" in the search line.  Up to you.  I just like looking at the little blue creature and being able to get to Heartsy fast.  The more graphics of him, the better.

That's it for today!  Thanks for sharing your time with me.  I really mean that.

Please "react" or comment, below, so I know if I'm annoying people or not.  I don't want to do that.  Please also take the little poll(s) (somewhere on the right), especially if you're familiar with my Etsy shop.   Thank you!

Captain's Log, Day 2

Hey!  Welcome!  I just listed my second item on Listia and am understanding more about how it works.  Here's some information I copied out of their website that explains things very well:

How Listia Works
  1. A user lists something they don't want anymore (like an old TV).
  2. Other users bid on the TV using credits they received for signing up, referring friends or listing their own stuff.
  3. When the auction ends, the user who bid the highest amount of credits wins!
  4. The buyer gets the TV, and the seller gets credits to use for something else on Listia...
Okay, that's my contribution for the day!  Thanks a million for coming.  Woo hoo!

Captain's Log, Day 1

This is my first blog, first public post. Thank you for coming!  I created it because I intensely dislike twitter and facebook.  It's quiet here.  God bless America!

I have a little itty-bitty on-line business at JustPlainVintage.Etsy.com.  It's the first place I ever set up shop and I really like it there.  I think the site is laid out beautifully.  The pricing (for sellers) is not too bad and shoppers seem to have an easy time navigating around, finding most anything they could ever want.  I have a coupon code you can use in my shop, if you like, for 15% off:  BLOG15JPV.  There are also many other wonderful shops, and some of them have coupon codes as well.  Be sure to look for them.

I use other selling venues for different reasons, but the only other one I'd call official is a cute little site called "Listia.”  I have one item listed there. I like it because you can "sell" little things for credits and "buy" little things for credits.  It's fun when you want to get away from your pocketbook for awhile.  The moment you sign up you'll be given enough credits to buy something, today, for free.  It’s awesome!  It’s kind of like a trading site with your first trade being free.  If you want to check it out you can enter through my referral link below and both of us will earn extra credits.  Or you can just go there on your own, or maybe you know someone else with a link.  Have fun whatever you do.  This is my referral link:  www.listia.com/signup/407214

I like this blog business, so come back some time and see how things are going!

That's it for now.  Bye!
